Benefits of Rose Infused Products

There is simply the rose; it is perfect in every moment of its existence. – Ralph Waldo Emerson

What are the benefits of Roses and Rose Infused Products? What are these products supposed to do? What are the exact benefits of these products and roses in general? That is the question I am going to answer today.

Certainly, the rose is the queen of flowers. Roses have a special place in literature, in art and in our hearts. Emma Goldman’s famous quote “I’d rather have roses on my table than diamonds on my neck” illustrates clearly that nothing pleases women more than a bouquet of flowers. It seems to be a symbol for every positive thing this world has to offer. They stand for love, beauty, faith, honor, innocence, passion, purity, sensuality, wisdom and so much more… But, have you ever wondered why? Why does this flower represent certain qualities and why do people all around the world connect it with love?

Many different sources claim that the ancient Greeks and Romans accociated the rose with goddesses, such as Aphrodite and Venus. Indeed, this flower’s first use in specific fields dates back to 3500 B.C. when the ancient Egyptians had discovered a way to extract flower essences through distillation. However, historical evidences show that the tradition of extracting various flowers’ essences for obtaining perfumes and rose water  had already been founded in Persia before coming to the ancient Egyptian world. Nevertheless, Middle Eastern / North African people discovered the benefits of this flower and started to use it for medical and cosmetical purposes. These benefits are scientifically proven and therefore, the use of rose water and rose infused products are still in full vogue.

I personally love rose infused products and bought lots of them when I went to Turkey last summer. One can find rose infused sweets (e.g. Turkish Delights) and cosmetic products everywhere in Turkey for very affordable prices and they do not only lack of chemicals, but also do what they are supposed to do!

Benefits of Roses for your Skin

Rose water has strong anti-inflammatory properties that will treat internal and external inflammations. Thus, you can use it to treat or soothe the appearance of pimples, acne, rosacea and even eczema. The antibacterial properties of rose water will improve your complexion and reduce skin redness. At the same time, it is suitable for every skin type. Rose water does not irrirate sensitive skin (make sure to buy 100% pure rose water) and has oil control and mousturizing properties. Moreover, it does prevent and also calm sunburns due to the aforementioned qualities. And you can even use it to reduce the appearance of puffy eyes and dark circles.

Beauty Hack: Use rose water as a toner and apply it on your skin after your daily cleansing process to reduce acne and / or wrinkles. I put it on a piece of cotton and apply it all over my face before applying my moisturizer.

Beauty Hack: Fill the rose water into a spray bottle and put it into the refrigerator. Once you return from tanning, take a shower and spray the water all over your body.

Beauty Hack: Dunk cotton balls into the refrigerated rose water and put it on your eyes for ca. 10 minutes.

Benefits of Roses for your Hair

Not only will rose water make your hair smell amazing, but also treat dandruff thanks to it’s healing and nourishing qualities.

Beauty Hack: Spray rose water on your hair to treat dry and damanaged hair. Mix it with your favorite shampoo to treat dandruff.

Benefits of Roses for your Health & Psyche

Rose water has traditionally been used to soothe sore throats. It can treat infections, cuts, burns and even scars. Roses contain antioxidants, which protect cells from damage. Thanks to the flower’s anti-bacterial properties, it can even be used as a mouthwash alternative.

Health Hack: Try mixing rose water or rose petals with your tea and other drinks to improve your overall health.

The scent of rose has been scientifically proven to reduce blood pressure and levels of the stress hormone cortisol because of it’s de-stressing effects. Hence, rose essential oil is commonly used in aromatherapy to relieve headaches and to improve the patients well-being.

Health HackUse either a rose room spray or rose water and spray it all over your room and bed. Trust me when I say that it will make you feel better and even happier!

Where to get Rose Infused Care Products

If you are interested in rose infused products, I can highly recommend you the brands that have their main office in Isparta, Turkey, also known as “The City Of Roses”. The products you can see on the picture are from a brand named “Güldeste” and one of the most nourishing and moisturizing products I have ever tried. This kind of shocked me because I am someone who usually pays lots and lots of money for luxury brands, only to get high quality products. However, it is amazing that these products beat well known luxury brands when it comes to the quality. Unfortunately, this brand does not seem to ship it’s products to other countries, yet, but the best alternative I know is “Rosense“. They offer international shipping to several countries, but you have to find the right website for your own country first.

Thank you very much for reading this post. Hopefully, it was helpful in bringing you closer to the benefits of this wonderful creation. Let me know if you have ever tried rose infused products or would like to try them after reading my article.

Sending you lots of Love,
