Harley Quinn – Look for Halloween
So what if I’m crazy? The best people are – Mad Hatter
Halloween is the one and only opportunity to be whatever you want! I decided to recreate the Harley Quinn look, which was one of 2016’s most popular Halloween costumes. If you would like to know which products I have used, keep reading.
1. Harley Quinn Look – Make-Up :
1. 1 Skin:
To start of this look, I used my Vichy Aqualia Thermal Moisturizer. I have to admit that I do not use a primer as a base because my skin is dry and I get the best results when applying a moisturizer before my foundation. Next, I mixed my Armani Luminous Silk Foundation with the Mac Body & Face Foundation in the lightest shade called “C1”. I bought the C1 shade (I usually buy C5) to lighten up other foundations I use during the summer time. In my opinion, this Mac foundation can be mixed with any other product without destroying the formula or making it look cakey.
Harley Quinn has an extremely pale complexion and to lighten up the foundation alone did not give me the desired effect. Consequently, I applied the Nars Radiant Creamy Concealer in the lightest shade, “Chestily”, under my eyes on my chin and forehead. After blending the product in, I set the undereye area with the Laure Mercier Transclucent powder and for the rest of my face, I used the NYX HD Finishing Powder Powder.
Avoid using dark colors for your face contour because you want your skin to look as pale and kind of dead as possible. However, if you want to countour your face, I recommend you to go for a powdery product instead of a cream.
1. 2 Eyes:
For this look, I left my eyebrows all natural, but if you have to shape them or fill them in, to recreate Margot Robbie’s eyebrow shape, I recommend the ABH dipbrow pomades. I own the shade dark brown and use it quite often to fill in certain areas.
For eyeliner, I used Bobby Brown The Ink Liner in “Blackest Black” and the Maybelline kohl liners for my waterlines (black for the upper, white for the bottom line).
The most important part is her signature pink-blue-eyeshadow look. I purchased the I Heart Makeup Slogan Palette by Makeup Geek to recreate her eye make-up. It contains every color you need for this look! Have a look at the inserted picture below to understand the numbering.
Color 1: apply it all over your lids
Color 2 + 3: apply one of them on each lid
Color 4 + 5: apply them on the outer half of your lids
Color 6 + 7: use them to blend the colors and achieve a softer looking finish / transition
I finished this eye look with a couple coats of the Benefit Roller Lash Mascara.
1. 3 Lips:
I lined my lips with the Kylie Jenner Mary Jo liner and applied the matching liquid lipstick on top of it.
1. 4 Tattoos:
Have fun drawing on the tattoos with a liquid eyeliner!
2. Harley Quinn Look – Hair :
If you do not want to buy a wig, just buy a package of hair chalk, wet the areas of your hair where you want the color to appear and apply the chalk on your hair. To get a more intense result, fill a little cup with water and lay sheets on the ground. Dip the chalk into the water, put your hair on the sheets and start rubbing the wet chalk on your hair. I purchased mine from Etsy.
That’s all! The best thing about this look is that you can recreate it without putting too much effort it in. So, it can also qualify as a last-minute look, provided you already own a suitable make.up palette.
