La Rôse Blush Poudrer – Review

Hey guys !

I am very pleased that you have found your way to our website. So, today I will review the probably most stunning looking product that I’ve ever seen, the Lancôme Paris La Rôse Blush Poudrer aka the highlighter that looks like a rose and that you’ve probably seen all over  Instagram and Pinterest. After seeing the first picture of this product, I knew instantly that I had to buy this highlighter at any price. I did. Why? Because I am a freaking packaging victim. Does this term even exist?

Product information:

♛ Price: I paid 50 €  ♛ Content: 1.6 g = 0.056 OZ  ♛ Promises: I have no idea since there is no product description on or inside the packaging.

What I expected:
Usually, I decide whether a highlighter is a hit or miss by paying attention to three essential aspects:
♛ Does it make me glow like a firework?
♛ Does it make me glow like a firework without making my face look too glittery?
♛ Does it stay on my face and make me glow like a firework for at least a couple of hours?

This cute pastel pink colored bucket comes in a silver cardbox, which is completely black on the inside. After removing the lid, one can gaze in amazement at this beautiful piece of art. I just can’t get over how beautiful this highlighter is. First, I used my “Zoeva 105 Luxe Highlighter Rose Gold Vol. 2 brush” and put the product on my hands. I quickly realized that I needed to use more product because I wasn’t able to recognize any difference. Certainly, I noticed a slight shimmering on the back of my hand, but it wasn’t enough for me, so I just had to apply more and more product before snapping the following pictures.

The rose looks kind of fragile. Therefore, I rubbed my brush very gently and carefully on the product. Again, I had to go in several times and build it up in order to make the product show itself on my skin. While swirling my brush in circular motions onto the rose over and over again, I asked myself if I’ve used the 1,6 grams already. I applied the product on top of my cheekbones and used my fingers to put some of the formula under my eyebrows. The product is very powdery and it gives you a very subtle non-sparkling glow. I would describe the color as a cool toned silvery tint with a slight touch of lilac. Personally, I prefer golden colors because I have the feeling that these look better on me due to the fact that my skin has a warm undertone. However, La Rôse Blush Poudrer is perfect for a natural looking go-to no-make-up make-up look. At least, it does stay on your face, but I cannot guarantee that this will still be the case after walking in the wet without an umbrella.

Conclusion: I use highlighters to look glowy and make people go blind, not to look natural. If you prefer a sheer highlighter and are fine with building the product up in order to make it show itself, go ahead and purchase it. Unfortunately, I will not rebuy this product because in my opinion, it is nothing more than eye candy and therefore, not worth the price. I will probably put it on my desk and just stare at it whenever I feel depressed. Yepp, that’s it.

BTW: My favorite highlighters are the Nars Illuminators, Jeffree Star’s Skin Frost highlighters and the Mary Lou Manizer. I will definitely talk about these products in another entry sometime in the future.

Thank you very much for your time. I hope this review was helpful to decide whether or not to purchase this product. If you have any questions feel free to contact me or just leave a comment.
